Paintings and Reflections from the Real World
There is a Real World. It is the world of landscape many of us have lost our connection to living in a world so full of things. It exists just outside our door, our window, our car. It surrounds us on the way to work, rolls out in front of us in the parking lot, off the edges of the sidewalk, down the street where we live. I paint, write and photograph to remind us this treasure still exists, not just for our physical sustenance but as an essential source of emotional and spiritual nourishment that deepens our humanity. Even though we may have cast it aside like an old lover, caught up in our affair with our man made world, it remains steadfast and long suffering and there for everyone. When we have lost our way, emptied our spirits with our own devices, it is where each of us can return and be restored to ourselves, each other and to the world.
